Research Narratives

Orson allows for the creation of interactive research narratives, for the 'writing up' phase of projects. These are pages which can contain hyperlinks to other resources in the notebook, like visualisations. Clicking on these links opens the interactive resource alongside the page being viewed, in a split-screen view. These pages are useful for summing up research conclusions in a format which allows viewers to explore and interact with the evidence being discussed.

The changes to research narratives are captured in snapshots, so their histories can be optionally ‘replayed’ by viewers to gain insights into their development.

Page types in Orson are plugins, so it's possible to develop a custom page format for sharing research in a particular layout, or featuring specialised interactions.
